// DATA HANDLING
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-06. Plain-English summary first; the specifics follow.
The short version. The ARG Net is opt-in. If you don't turn it on, no run data leaves your machine. If you do, we store anonymous gameplay stats keyed to your Steam ID — never your name, email, or messages. You can erase all of it from inside the game at any time. This website sets no cookies and runs no third-party analytics.
What we collect (only if you opt in)
- Run summaries: outcome (extracted / died / aborted), duration, class, mission, sector, hazard tier, kills, samples collected/banked/lost, and similar gameplay stats.
- A random operator ID (a UUID generated on your device) and, on Steam, your Steam ID so the record can be linked to your account and purged on request.
- Your client version, so we know which build a run came from.
What we never collect
- No real names, emails, addresses, or payment details.
- No chat, voice, or message content.
- No precise location, device fingerprint, or advertising identifiers.
Identity
We never create custom accounts. On Steam, your identity is your Steam ID. Non-Steam builds are fully anonymous — runs carry only the random operator ID.
How it's used
Aggregated across all players to drive the community war state (sector pressure, featured contracts, Priority Directives) shown on the War Ledger and in-game. Individual runs are never shown publicly.
Retention
Raw run records are pruned after 180 days. Anonymous daily aggregates (with no operator ID) are kept to show historical trends.
Deleting your data
Use the in-game purge. It erases your operator record and every run tied to it, immediately and irreversibly. Under GDPR/CCPA this is your right to erasure; the purge fulfils it.
This website
No cookies. No third-party analytics or trackers. Nothing is loaded from off-origin. The War Ledger only reads the same public war state the game reads.
